1974 - I served a thirteen-month deployment in the Republic of South Korea. Upon my arrival, I was assigned to the Army Security Agency Border Sites located on the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) separating North and South Korea. My responsibilities included collaborating with three fellow Army soldiers to maintain equipment monitoring  North Korean and Chinese radio transmissions.  

1988 - Helen Poe asked me to come with her and a group of her friends to spend Christmas and New Year’s in London.  On my first trip to Europe I took in much of London riding the Underground or “Tube”  all over the city before taking an excursion to Stonehenge, Oxford, Bath, and Wells with Helen and Margaret.  

1989 - Tour of Italy with Helen Poe and friends.  We landed in Milan and traveled to Cuomo and up into Switzerland coming back down through the Dolomites to Verona and Venice visiting San Marino before heading to Pisa.  Here, I left the group and traveled solo to three days exploring Rome.  

1993 - James and I traveled with Helen Poe and friends to Frankfurt Germany then on to Bamburg before we crossed the border into the Czech Republic and capital city Prague.  After three days in Prague we then traveled to Salzburg Austria for a few days then Munich and then into the Alps before returning home. 

1994 - James and I traveled to London for a four day weekend trip on a budget.  We toured all around London exploring the Tower of London, Big Ben, Winchester Cathedral, Tower Bridge, St. Peters Cathedral and all points in between and then took a rental car to Windsor Castle as well as Bath and Wells.  

1996 - I went on a mission trip with The Daughters of Charity, a Catholic group out of Dallas to Guatemala to work on  Ak ‘Tenament, a school established for the native Mayan people living on the Dulce River.  We traveled down river in a motorized canoe to update, paint and restore school and clinic buildings.

2009 - James and I traveled to Italy landing in Milan exploring this magnificent city seeing the Duomo, Castle Sforza, the Galleria and Las Scala then on to Tuscany for a few days before heading to Rome to explore the ancient city including the Colosseum, the Vatican, the Pantheon and more.
