Buena Vista and Salida

Arkansas River

Buena Vista and Salida have a backdrop with some of the highest peaks in Colorado.  The headwaters of the Arkansas River stem from the eastern drainage of  the Sawatch Range which runs through here.  We enjoy hiking near Twin Lakes and shoping and strolling the streets of Salida and the main drag in Buena Vista.  A drive up to accessible mountain vistas is always fun too.  Ask James about Independence Pass that one time.   Nearby, Browns Canyon National Monument offers rafting, hiking, camping, etc.  The pups had a fun time hiking in the mountains and around the lakes with us.
